Israel has been repeatedly warned by senior Iranian authorities not to respond violently to Iran’s missile and drone attacks over the weekend.
An Iranian military spokesman urged the US, UK, France, and Germany to end their backing for Israel.
If Israel responds to the strikes this weekend, Brig Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi warned in an interview with Iran’s official state news agency IRNA, the Islamic Republic would respond even more forcefully.
“We call on the leaders of the US, UK, France, and Germany to end their support for Israel’s crumbling terrorist dictatorship, which is killing children at an alarming rate.
It is clear that Iran is not a belligerent state that wants to start more wars.
If the regime takes a more drastic aggressive action, the reaction will be more robust.
“Its bullying and madly taken behavior towards Iran will not work,” a senior official told Al Jazeera overnight, adding that Iran had a vast variety of alternatives to deploy against Israel.
