President Bola Tinubu has urged ECOWAS member states to band together, establish relations, and oppose forces bent on dividing the group.

He highlighted that member nations cannot afford to be passive bystanders as the community faces the possibility of dissolution.

“We stand united against such forces and are devoted to keeping our unity intact. We must increase our cooperation in order to foster a sense of shared destiny and purpose. Nobody can accomplish this for us. We must come together.

“To this aim, establishing the legitimacy of decisions made by the Authority of Heads of State is critical in conveying the idea that ECOWAS is one indivisible organization.

It is also critical that the executives have the same level of trust in the Parliament, since this would strengthen democracy in our region.

Meanwhile, in the face of continued challenges, our alliance may serve as a catalyst for regional stability, progress, and prosperity,” the President stated.

Tinubu underlined Nigeria’s steadfast commitment to the community’s aspirations, and by extension, the core goals for which the ECOWAS Parliament was founded.

Tinubu affirmed the importance of the ECOWAS Parliament in the bloc’s road to a future of peace and prosperity for all, stating that success cannot be accomplished without the community’s legislative agency’s faithful dedication and hard work.
