Against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals, Arsenal will have a tough time, according to Gary Neville, a former captain of Manchester United.

Neville thinks it might be an issue that they have no prior experience in Europe.

On Tuesday night, the Gunners will play host to Bayern at the Emirates.

Entering the game, Arsenal is atop the Premier League, while the Bavarians find themselves 16 points lagging in the Bundesliga, trailing Bayer Leverkusen. They have suffered consecutive losses to Dortmund and Heidenheim.

There won’t be any Bayern fans making the journey to the Emirates to cheer for the team.

“I hope Arsenal beat Bayern Munich, of course I do,” Neville stated on his podcast. However, he also predicted that Arsenal will have a tough time competing against Bayern Munich.

Going into the second leg at the Allianz Arena, I just think Arsenal will have a hard time competing against the might and tradition of Bayern Munich, even though Bayern are now having a rough go of it in the Bundesliga.

From a perspective where some lessons must be learned in the Champions League, that might be too much for them.

“We don’t know yet if that will be beneficial or detrimental for Arsenal, but I believe they could face that in the coming weeks.”
